Thread on Wheels

Thread is hitting the road-in a vintage Airstream that will rock your world. (The girls brought it to our office this week to give us a preview, and this thing is amazing. Think hardwood floors, beautiful displays, a dressing room and space to comfortably fit half a dozen to a dozen shoppers.) Thread on Wheels, a mobile boutique that will travel anywhere from festivals to at-home parties, will make its debut Saturday at the Grandview Hop-and the first 50 people in will go home with free swag bags. "We had people ask us to have private parties," explained Miranda Boyle, who co-owns the shop with sister Sara Guice. "We thought, 'How can we get stuff out there?'" Enter the mobile vehicle, which Boyle found at P&S Airstream in Helena, Ohio and had refinished to fit Thread's needs. Here's how it works: You can have the boutique come to your house, and Thread will cater the clothing and accessories to the style and interests of you and your friends. And it's free! They'll also bring some food and drinks, so you can turn it into a girl's night out. Private parties already are scheduled around Columbus and even in other states. "We're so focused on customer service and the experience," said Guice. "It makes sense." –Heather Weekley, @heather_weekley
