Brace your fascinators, ladies, because if stellar style, chatty friends and cocktails on a Friday afternoon aren't enough to lure you to Hat Day, maybe this is: Tim Gunn is this year's headliner. The fashion guru and host of reality show Project Runway is part of the grander-than-ever event at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens on May 3. The fundraiser, now in its 13th year, begins at 11 a.m. with cocktails. Lunch and Gunn's appearance follow. And an after-party, including drinks on the west terrace, begins around 1 p.m. Tickets start at $300, and proceeds benefit educational, horticultural and community gardening programs at the Conservatory. The event has raised $2.3 million to date, and planners are hoping this year's celebrity guest helps add significantly to that amount. Gunn says he's looking forward to returning to Columbus, which he has visited several times. "I see Columbus as sort of the petri dish of style for the nation," he says. "I love Columbus." Les Chapeaux Dans Le Jardin, better known as Hat Day, is May 3 at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, 1777 E. Broad St. Tickets start at $300. For more, call614-715-8044 or visit FPConservatory.org.
