White a bright trend in fashion for spring

Spring will arrive next week, so the time has come to talk about trends.
After seeing the spring fashion shows last year in New York, I have three favorite looks - and ideas on how to wear them:
•Whiteout:White and ivory clothing dominated the collections in myriad forms - pencil pants, tailored blazers, flowing gowns. And many looks were shown as white on white.
The trend is an easy one to make wearable, whether you're going casual (white chino shorts and a white T-shirt paired with simple gold accessories) or dressing up (a white or ivory blazer as a go-to piece for spicing up a work wardrobe).
•Feminine flair:Ladylike details were featured in almost every show, as designers used sheer materials and incorporated elements such as lace and peplum. Rock the trend with one great lace top to layer over camis or tank tops and under other blouses or jackets.
•Pretty prints:Prints are back in a big way, with stripes, florals and Asian flair, too. Snag one great pair of printed pants that can be worn casually (with a tank or T-shirt and sandals for date night) or more formally (with a collared shirt and blazer for work).
Or keep it simple with one colorful, printed scarf - a wonderful way to spruce up your look on a budget. (Try Short North boutique Substance, which has scarves for $30 and less.)
