DSW Voted Favorite Shoe Retailer

DSW is the nation's favorite shoe retailer, according to the latest Market Force Information study.

More than 4,000 consumers participated in the survey, which calculated the top footwear retailer by vote and then factored in the number of locations each owned "for a more level view of results," a release said. The Columbus-based company remained in the top spot in both cases, with Nordstrom coming in at number two.

NIKE placed in the third spot, with Shoe Carnival and Famous Footwear rounding out the top five.

"DSW is differentiating by implementing new technologies, growing its loyalty program and maintaining fresh inventory," the release said.

Something to note: Respondents to the February 2013 survey ranged in age from 18 to over 65 and were 60 percent female.
