My Five Favorite Spring Trends: Christina Getachew
Columbus fashion guest blogger Christina Getachew is founder and CEO of Short North boutique Substance.
I love elegant beadwork for day. It's a natural transition off the sequins for day trend we see coming off of the holidays. It's one we feel so strongly about that it inspired a collection of detachable collars we're making at Substance, priced at $148 each.
Collar Me Pretty unveiled March 26th.
Black and white is a trend I am thrilled to see in full force this spring because it lends itself to pieces that you can wear easily with the other wildly bright-colored accessories we're also seeing.

The electric bright pops of color trend I love to see is being interpreted in accessories, so a mini cross body bag or an energizing, bright infinity scarf is how I would wear this trend.
Another trend I love this spring is studs on accessories, especially the giant studs on steroids. When they're used on handbags the way we're seeing now, they give you a little something extra to hold onto.

Lastly, I am in love with all-over floral patterns. The ones I love most are colorful, romantic, bold and feminine on pants, skirts and dresses. It's also a trend that even the pattern-phobic can take part in with just a great floral scarf.
