Calling All Style-Loving Mamas

Trend-savvy mamas have a new shop to try-and this week, for a discount.

Hot Mama, a retail brand that caters to the fashion-conscious mom, is opening a new location Wednesday, May 1 at 10 a.m. at Polaris. The store will offer 10 percent off all items through May 5, and the first 50 customers to come in each day will receive a $25 gift card.

Hot Mama carries quite a variety of brands, from BB Dakota to TeaNRose to Free People. The company's goal is to empower moms with a friendly environment and flattering clothing that keeps trends in mind.

The concept stemmed from a shopping experience founder Megan Tamte had as a new mom. After pushing her baby through the small aisles of a Nordstrom in a stroller, Tamte writes that she left empty-handed and frustrated. She decided shortly after to open a store with a little more to offer mothers.

The company will open a second Columbus location at Easton in June.
