Beer buff
We Columbusites love craft beer. Just walk into any one of the ever-multiplying number of local breweries, growler shops or bars if you don't believe me.
Now there's another place in town to sample an array of crafted excellence, from local microbrews to imported specialties. Whole Foods Upper Arlington this Saturday will host the firstSix Pack Saturday Beer Tasting, a summer-long series that affords imbibers the chance to taste six different beers chosen by the specialty grocer's beer and wine buyer. Each selection will have a theme, whether it's the region where the beer was brewed or a particular style. This week's tasting features Belgian beers, includingSaison DuPontandChimay Premier. Better yet, each beer is served alongside an appetizer pairing. And the best part? The whole shebang is only $5.
Tastings run from 5 to 7 p.m. every Saturday through August and last about 30 minutes. You can buy tickets at the customer service desk, and stick around after for a great selection of craft beer on draft.
