Star Jewelers of Bexley won't be in Bexley much longer.

The store is moving to a new space at 607 N. High St. in the Short North.

Rachel Howard, buyer at Star Jewelers, said this new location not only provides more space, but also gives the store a more centralized location, as well as more opportunity for events and trunk shows.

"Although it was a hard choice to leave Bexley, we feel this is an opportunity for both our customers and for us as a business," she wrote in an email.

Howard said she anticipates a late fall opening.

In the mean time, the jeweler is hosting its first-ever storewide sale to make room for loads of new inventory. It begins next Tuesday, July 1, and will last for roughly two weeks.

Most of the store will be discounted at 20 to 50 percent off.

"There's going to be lots of treasure hunting," Howard said.

Indeed-the store has diamond earrings at 50 percent off, plus diamond bracelets marked down to 30 and 40 percent off.

As for the "of Bexley" in the store's name, Howard says they're in the process of finalizing a new moniker. Stay tuned.
