Besa hosts diaper drive to benefit Columbus families

Columbus community organization Besa is encouraging the city to do some good this fall by donating to its diaper drive, Pamper the Pantries. Besa has a goal of collecting 10,000 diapers by Oct. 3 for those in need-the drive benefits the Columbus Diaper Bank (read about the organization started by Mikey's Late Night Slice owner Mikey Sorboro here, from the July/August issue of Capital Style), Columbus Diaper Coalition and Diaper Connection. Matt Goldstein, Besa's executive director, shares how easy it is to donate to the cause: Either bring diapers to one of the three Candle Lab locations (Grandview, Worthington or Short North), or purchase diapers via Besa's Amazon wish list. Diapers bought through the list are shipped directly to Besa, making it easy to support those in need with the click of a button.

Unfamiliar with Besa? Launched in 2012, Besa helps engage the Columbus community and encourages giving back. "It's the idea of coming together to support those who need it," Goldstein says. "How can we make volunteering more top of mind?" Besa's website features a portal where volunteers can sign up for various opportunities around the city.
