Celebrate Oktoberfest with Our Schmidt's Cream Puffs Giveaway

If you go to Columbus Oktoberfest for one thing, go for the cream puffs.

Yes, Schmidt's Sausage Haus, the maker of the Jumbo Cream Puff, will be at the annual festival, running Sept. 26 to 28 at the Ohio Expo Center. Admission is free, and there will be plenty of puffs to go around, but you can get yours on us by entering our Oktoberfest Contest.

And if you're looking for something salty after that cream-filled pastry, Oktoberfest boasts tons of authentic German fare, including pierogies, Weinerschnitzle and handmade pretzels.

Don't forget to check out the Arts & Crafts Giant Eagle Marktplatz for handmade and giftable items from artisans and commercial vendors. The festival will have plenty of live entertainment at The Glockenspiel Entertainment Stage, as well as a WineGarten and Beer Garten featuring craft beers and German wines. Take the kids to the PNC Kinderplatz for a bounce house, crafts and, yes, a pig race.

Oktoberfest runs from 5 p.m. to midnight on Sept. 26, noon to midnight on Sept. 27 and noon to 8 p.m. on Sept. 28. Parking is $8, and a portion of the proceeds from the festival will go to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.
