In honor of October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Susan G. Komen Columbus is once again partnering with Epcon Communities for Condos for the Cure. Epcon Communities, which develops homes and condo communities through Central Ohio, donates $1,000 to Komen Columbus for each home that goes into contract during the month of October. "Last year Epcon donated $10,000, and in total they have donated $35,000 to the cause," says Becca Thomas, director of events and marketing for Komen Columbus. "The goal this year is to reach $10,000 again."

To kick off Condos for the Cure, which is now in its sixth year, there's a girls-only open house event on Thursday, Oct. 2. From 5 to 7 p.m., head to Epcon Communities' brand-new development in Powell, the Courtyards of Powell. The ladies' night is happening at the model house, and you'll find hors d'oeuvres, drinks and live music along with vendors including Stella & Dot, Thirty-One Gifts and Mukha Custom Cosmetics. "It's a free event, and it makes for a beautiful evening," Thomas says.
