Ohio State Alum's Letterman Sweaters Have School Spirit

Stitching an Ohio State logo onto a sweater isn't as easy as you might think. Alumna Amanda Sima knows as much. This spring, Sima's company, Alma Mater Wear, became one of the only independent merchandisers in Columbus to receive an Ohio State apparel license-a competitive process that, from concept to reality, took the better part of six years.
Just in time for tailgating season, Alma Mater Wear unveiled its first line of cotton letterman-style sweaters and shawl-collared cardigans, each designed by Sima. Men and women's styles are available at Macy's, College Traditions, Simply Vague, The Buckeye Corner and, later this fall, at Barnes & Noble on High Street. Prices range from $80 to $90.
"There's no clean, classic brand that exists within the collegiate apparel market," Sima says. "And I think a lot of consumers are not being addressed, especially a lot of women who don't want to wear jerseys or T-shirts." almamaterwear.com
