Where can you enjoy the sounds of local pianist and vocalist Dave Powers, blues artist Sean Carney, Caribbean steel drummer Derek DiCenzo and drummer Danny Aguiar-all in one place?

The 13th annual A Christmas to Cure Cancer concert, held on Dec. 5 at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, will feature these four artists, as well as a live auction, dinner and drinks and a special Kids & Critters-A Zoo Adventure program for children.

The event, which has raised more than $1 million since its inception, supports cancer research, screenings and education, specifically the Heather Pick Music Program at Ohio State's Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. The program brings live musical performances to the hospital for patients and families to enjoy.

Tickets to the holiday concert are $100 per person. A social hour and silent auction will kick off the evening at 5 p.m. The live auction begins at 8 p.m., and the performances run throughout. Organizers suggest dressing in layers to enjoy the zoo's Wildlights display. Get your ticket at www.achristmastocurecancer.org.
