Star Jewelers New Short North Space: Well Played
Jewelry boutique Star Jewelers has moved into the Short North, and they've upgraded not only their space, but also their inventory. After 22 years in Bexley, owners Elaine and Dennis Howard have reopened shop in a chic space on the city's most vibrant strip. (They're at 607 N. High St, on the block between Le Chocoholique and Marcella's.) And they've brought along their 25-year-old daughter Rachel, who has officially joined the longtime family business. Truth: She's kind of a game-changer, with a young, fresh style and desire to offer cool pieces priced for young women her age (think $165 natural stone necklaces and $300 diamond bar ear crawlers). The mix of that with the classic, elegant and fun pieces Star has long carried means there's plenty to ogle. Here's a peek at some pieces that caught our eye.
Also: Wednesday, Dec. 3, is girls night. From 5 to 8 p.m. the store will have cocktails andhors d'oeuvres from Marcella's. RSVP to rachel@starjewelersonhigh.comto be entered into a special giveaway. If you can't make it, no worries: Star is open every day now through Christmas.
