The Short North Alliance is celebrating the neighborhood's 30th anniversary and artistic foundation with a "Start with Art" campaign.

From Jan. 31 through February, the alliance is asking community members to share on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter how art inspires them with the hashtag #StartwithArt. A set of finalists will be posted to the Short North Facebook page each Friday, starting on Feb. 13, and the photo with the most likes and shares will snag a limited edition HOMAGE shirt-plus a chance to be featured on the Short North's new site, launching in April.

"Start with Art perfectly conveys the significance of the role of the arts in our neighborhood," said Michelle Brandt, owner of Brandt-Roberts Galleries, in a release. "Within this expression is a historical reference to our inception as an arts district as well as the artistic breadth we now experience, including the culinary, fashion and performing arts."

There are a total of 18 galleries in the Short North, according to the alliance, and Betsy Pandora, executive director of the Short North Alliance, says she hopes this campaign will bring in more art collectors and give them a platform to share their pieces and passion.
