Meet Columbus' 12-Year-Old CEO

Twelve-year-old Meagan Warren can't imagine life without books. Her passion fuels Books for Bedtime, the nonprofit she launched last year to put donated books directly into the hands of kids. At each visit to mostly low-income schools and outreach programs, the Books for Bedtime CEO speaks about the importance of reading, and mans the display table, where she often makes personal recommendations. Though it can be nerve-wracking to address older kids, Warren doesn't let that thwart her efforts. With the aid of friends and family and Volunteer Match-an organization that helps nonprofits find support-Warren's efforts are gaining ground; Mensa International (she's a member), JPMorgan Chase & Co., Kohl's and L Brands have contributed to the cause. But it's the flood of response from the kids, many by way of handmade cards, that has had the greatest impact on Warren. booksforbedtimenonprofit.org
