O'zapft is! How to Oktoberfest at Germania

Beer and brats will be in abundance at the Germania Singing & Sport Society's 57th annual Oktoberfest celebration, Sept. 18 to 20. Beginning Friday, fest-goers can enjoy traditional German food and beer, play games, watch German folk dancing and listen to music by Bill Antoniak and his polka band.

The official tapping of the keg, accompanied by the Germania Singers, will take place Saturday, along with a performance by Cincinnati's popular Hank Haller Ensemble.

Sunday's atmosphere will be alive with music from the Newark Maennerchor, Columbus Swiss Singers,Columbus Maennerchor and Damenchor and 50-piece brass Worthington Civic Band.

The festivities begin at 4 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $5 Friday and Saturday; Sunday admission is free.germaniacolumbus.org
