1. Urban Scrawl: Aug. 27–28

See works of art come to life at the 10th annual Urban Scrawl event hosted by the Franklinton Arts District. This two-day arts festival brings together 65 artists from Central Ohio and beyond to paint live murals as part of the city's urban renewal efforts. Completed projects are auctioned off at the annual Art for Franklinton fundraiser, as well as mounted publicly around the neighborhood. For the fifth time in its storied 100-year history, Scioto Country Club will host a major championship, the 2016 U.S. Senior Open. 3. Pelotonia: Aug. 5–7

The annual bike ride to end cancer kicks off with an opening ceremony for riders, volunteers and their guests 3 p.m. Aug. 5 at Columbus Commons. A Blessing of the Bikes takes place at Cambridge Boulevard and West Fifth Avenue in Marble Cliff at 6 a.m. on Aug. 6 before riders take to the road; the longest ride concludes the following day in Gambier. pelotonia.org

4. ProMusica Summer Music Series: Aug. 11, 13–14

Don't miss Central Ohio's acclaimed chamber orchestra perform in its new summer home, Topiary Park, behind the renovated Downtown branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library.
