Daily Bulletin: Catch a Concert

Music lovers can take advantage of two concerts—one of which is sensory-friendly—Saturday and Sunday.

The New Albany Symphony Orchestra will perform H20 at 11:30 a.m. April 29 at the Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts, 100 W. Dublin-Granville Road, New Albany.

The concert is the third in a new Saturday at the Symphony series sponsored by PNC Arts Alive. The one-hour events are designed for families with young children and individuals on the autism spectrum or with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

H20 will include well-known songs about water, including Water Music by Handel, Strauss’ Blue Danube waltzes and Tan Dun’s Concerto for Water and Percussion.

Capriccio Youth Choir will end its season with Songs of Home. The concert, at 4 p.m. April 30 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2070 Ridgecliff Road, Upper Arlington, will feature all four groups that make up Capriccio. Singers come from across Central Ohio.

The singers will perform selections including Homeward Bound, Goin’ Home, Baba Yetu, Take Me Home, The Road Home and God Bless America. Admission is $10, free for students.

Capriccio Youth Choir also is scheduling auditions May 10 and 17 for next concert season. Students entering grades two to 12 are eligible. The auditions also include the CYC Tour Choir, which will travel to Washington, D.C., in June 2018.
