Daily Bulletin: Rainy Day Fun

Melissa Kossler Dutton

It’s said that April showers bring May flowers. But for parents willing to put up with wet socks, spring rains can bring a deluge of outdoor fun.

We all know kids love to jump in puddles, so next time it starts to drizzle, grab the boots and raincoats head outdoors.

Not sure what to do? Here are some great ideas for rainy day adventures: activekidsclub.com/blogs/rainy-days/kids-love-rain.html, goexplorenature.com/2011/11/10-ideas-for-getting-outside-on-rainy-days.html and livestrong.com/article/164559-fun-outdoor-activities-in-the-rain. Highlights include racing boats in puddles, making mud pies and hunting for worms.

Once the kids are dry again, keep the fun going indoors. Play a board game. Take turns reading a book out loud. Have a dance party.
