Upcoming Events: FancyFlip Wedding Resale

Maybe you’ve seen the Facebook ads: “Sell your wedding items!” Maybe you just kept scrolling, assuming that you just don’t have time to take photos of all your leftover and used décor, upload them to whatever online forum is being advertised, then keep track of the sales and—worst of all—shipping the sold items out all over the country.
I know that’s what I did.
So when Leah Miller and Lisa Wilson emailed me about their FancyFlip Wedding Resale event, I was surprised to realize that I had it pegged all wrong.
These events take the form of upscale, pop-up flea markets in 10 major cities. There, newlyweds rent a table to sell the wares from their weddings, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and even bachelorette parties to the to-be-weds who attend.
“The newlywed sellers love it because they get rid of all that wedding stuff that they no longer need, and they make some money back, too,” says Miller. “The brides-to-be love it because they get beautiful things for decorating, fashion items and anything else they may need for their wedding at bargain prices. We believe that it is recycling at its finest!”
FancyFlip has two Columbus events on the horizon: one on June 4 at Courtyard Columbus West, and one on Nov. 19 at Nationwide Hotel & Conference Center. Tickets go on sale two days before the event takes place.
