Daily Bulletin: Happy Campers

Melissa Kossler Dutton

If the kids are going to camp this summer, you’ll want to check out tips from the experts at the American Camp Association.

The organization recommends packing from the top down by thinking first about your head. Will you need a hat, a bathing camp, swim goggles, glasses, etc.? From there, move down the body and add the appropriate items. The ACA also has a list of toiletries and other gear campers may need. Don’t forget to label everything to help ensure it comes home. Check out the advice at acacamps.org/campers-families/planning-camp/preparing-camp/what-bring-camp.

Another ACA tip: Pay equal attention to what not to pack. Many camps prohibit electronics and food. Be sure to review the guidelines provided by your child’s camp.
