Sweethearts and swashbucklers of all ages can get dressed up for a special event to help an organization that aids families with sick children.

Pirates & Princesses will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Columbus Ronald McDonald House, 711 E. Livingston Ave. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

Children can come in costume or purchase one at the event, which serves as a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio. Activities include games, an obstacle course, makeovers with hairstyling and nail services, face painting, tea cup decorating and an obstacle course. Admission also includes themed food and drinks (think fruit kabobs on swords and Wishing Well Water).
