Real Wedding Wednesdays: Aureyl Pitts and Stefan Thomas

Aureyl and Stefan Thomas first met in high school at Eastmoor Academy, and after five years of dating, Stefan arranged a surprise for Aureyl. During a gathering of their closest family and friends at her parents’ home to celebrate his summer music series, he popped the question.

“Once I collected myself and looked up, I saw that my close friends—who lived out of state—were also there,” Aureyl remembers. “He had them come in for the surprise as well.”

Sadly, Stefan’s father passed away not long after. To honor him, Aureyl ordered a custom floral piece that was placed in the seat where Stefan’s father would have sat. “It was a beautiful way to honor his father’s memory and spirit,” she says. “We preserved the piece, and it is one of the most precious keepsakes from the day.”
