The Center for Architecture and Design: Camp Architecture and High School Design Studio

Ages served: 8-18

Dates/times: 6/4-6/22; full day (6+ hours)

Description: Camp Architecture/High School Design Studio is a summer camp that introduces students to the world of architecture and design through hands-on activities, field trips, walking tours, presentations by professionals and games.

Cost: Camp Architecture, grades 3-8, $335 for a one-week session; High School Design Studio, grades 9-12, $560 for a two-week session, which starts June 11

Columbus School for Girls: CSG Summer Programs

Description: Whether your children are artists, actors, scientists, writers, athletes or anything in between, we invite them to explore their many talents and interests with us. The goal is to provide a comprehensive coeducational experience.

Enchanted Care Kids Campus: Make Your Mark

Description: Each week, children will be participating in sports programs, exploring nature, becoming involved in performing and creative arts, playing a part in group activities and attending special events.

The Goddard School: 2018 Summer Camp

Ages served: 6 weeks to 8 years

Description: The summer platform consists of five STEAM themes and in-house field trips. During our mini camps, the children will be exploring our galaxy, searching for clues, robot coding and a variety of culinary and performing arts.

A Good Start for All: A Good Start Summer Program

Ages served: 5-6

Dates/times: 6/11-7/20; full day (6+ hours)

Description: This program is designed to boost early literacy skills and prepare children entering kindergarten for the structure of school. Mornings have a literacy focus, while afternoons offer art, music, science, martial arts, dance, math and more.

Cost: Sliding fee scale, maximum $300. Free to eligible children living in 43201, 43202 and 43211. Financial assistance is available. Transportation provided within a limited radius.

Inspiring U: Sewing Camp

Ages served: 8-16

Dates/times: 6/25-6/29, 8/6-8/10; full day (6+ hours)

Description: Campers will learn both hand sewing and machine sewing. They'll make a blanket, a fabric-covered journal, felt food, a backpack, pillow, stuffed animal and more. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost: $280, includes all supplies. Early drop-off and late pickup are available; each is $20 for the week.

Description: Camp Brainiac is a program designed to work on increasing cognitive skills. We will use a series of fast-paced games and activities involved in developing things like attention, memory, logic and reasoning, and processing speed.

Marburn Academy: Keys to Literacy

Ages served: 11-14

Description: Students will learn how to utilize Keys to Literacy strategies in their writing. This includes how to organize ideas, structure longer writing and use technology to assist with revisions. This program is designed for proficient readers who continue to struggle with generating, organizing and developing their ideas.

Description: The program addresses the many components in language development. This includes reading, spelling, comprehension, written expression and vocabulary. Students learn strategies that strengthen foundational skills and build confidence. No class July 4.

Marburn Academy: Summer Phonemic Awareness Program

Ages served: 5-7

Description: Phonemic awareness is universally recognized as the single most important precursor skill for reading success. Marburn's activity-based class is designed to improve phonemic awareness in young children who have below-average skills. No class July 4.

Our CupCakery: Future Pastry Chef Camps Chocolate Science Camp

Ages served: 8-14

Dates/times: 7/9-8/9; full day (6+ hours) and half day (2-5 hours)

Description: Make chocolate desserts during our 14th camp. Come for the morning, afternoon or full day. Campers take home desserts every day, recipes and a T-shirt on Thursday. Camp operates Mondays through Thursdays. Morning session focuses on decorating, while the afternoon theme is “Sweet Science.”

Cost: $315 per week full day (9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.), $210 per week half day (9:30 a.m. to noon or 12:30-3 p.m.)

Our CupCakery: Teen Baking Around the World

Ages served: 12-16

Description: Pastry brings people and cultures together. This summer, we will bake popular pastries from different countries: tiramisu, cream puff, chocolate éclair, baklava Ohio style, Belgian beignets, chocolate crepes, churro and tres leche cake.

The Penmanship Lab: Grown Up & Child: Handwriting

Ages served: 4-6

Dates/times: 6/12-7/31; less than 2 hours

Description: This handwriting camp is led by an occupational therapist. Beginner writers will focus on grasp development, letter formation, size, spacing and sequencing using a multisensory approach for letters A to Z and numbers 1 to 10.

Ages served: entering grades 2-8

Description: This weeklong camp encourages participants to conjure up monsters, create new worlds, imagine new characters and write all about it. Camp is a half day for grades 2-3 and a full day for grades 4-8.
