Daily Bulletin: Health Departments Offer Immunizations
The Ohio Department of Health requires that students receive certain immunizations before enrolling and attending school.
In order to help parents comply with this requirement, Franklin County Public Health offers multiple opportunities for children to receive the necessary shots. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 614-525-3719 or going to myfcph.org. Parents and guardians must bring a photo ID, insurance card and the child’s immunization record.
The health department holds regularly scheduled clinics at 11 locations throughout the county (find details at myfcph.org/health-wellness/shots). In preparation for the start of school, the department also has planned five additional clinics at its offices, 280 E. Broad St., Columbus.
Clinic dates are:
- Saturday, Aug. 4, 9 a.m. to noon
- Monday, Aug. 20, 5-8 p.m.
- Thursday, Aug. 30, 5-8 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 15, 9 a.m. to noon
- Saturday, Sept. 29, 9 a.m. to noon
The health department accepts most insurance plans and offers immunizations on a sliding fee scale when necessary.
The Delaware General Health District and the Fairfield County Health Department also offer immunizations. For details, visit delawarehealth.org/immunizations or in Fairfield County, call 740-652-2800.
