Real Wedding Wednesdays: Mindy Amornyard and Damian Ettish

Mindy and Damian Ettish have a love that stretches across the oceans. The couple met at a boat race in London, where Mindy was studying abroad and Damian was living at the time, and they continued to date when Mindy returned to Ohio and Damian went home to South Africa. Following an extremely long-distance relationship, Damian’s move to Ohio and a storybook proposal at the Cape of Good Hope—starring a ring Damian had commissioned in South Africa—the couple started planning their very personal ceremony.
Though they married in Columbus, Mindy and Damian’s wedding was filled with South African details. Their rings were handmade there, the guests received wooden animals from South Africa as favors and the national flower, king protea, was present in the bouquets and centerpieces.
