Real Wedding Wednesdays: Erin Osborne and Jim Mitchell

A winery/vineyard theme was perfect for Erin and Jim Mitchell’s April wedding. A bit classier than their initial meeting—Jim bumped into Erin at an Arena District bar on her 21st birthday, spilling her beer all over her—the upscale vino environs was complemented the beautiful vineyards at their venue and a wine box ceremony featuring a custom bottle of wine. They plan to unseal the box and read the letters while drinking the wine sealed inside on their 10th anniversary. The theme even carried into the reception, where wine bottles filled with twinkle lights and Champagne-dipped flowers served as décor.

Another shared love of the Mitchells: doughnuts. A doughnut bar featuring treats from a Hilliard shop served as both a late-night snack and a favor for guests.

But the most memorable part of the day, Erin says, was the first look.

“Up until the week before our wedding, we were not going to do a first look. However, a week before the wedding, my gut told me to do one. … I just knew it was the right way to start our wedding day,” Erin recalls. “It not only created the most beautiful pictures, but it gave Jim and I some alone time to soak all of the small details in before the day started. I wouldn’t change a thing about this.”
