Real Wedding Wednesdays: Jaimie Nuckolls and Aaron Rodger

If we gave awards for “cutest couple,” Jaimie and Aaron Rodger would definitely be contenders. And if we gave awards for “best proposal,” Aaron’s to Jaimie just might take home the gold.

“Aaron surprised me New Year’s Eve weekend with a scavenger hunt across Downtown Columbus,” Jaimie says. “The morning started with a manicure and pedicure, then brunch with one of my best friends. Chelsea was in on the scheme, so she helped me navigate the clues from building to building.”

The last clue was at an Irish pub, where Jaimie had a drink to settle her nerves; then, the clue lead her to Due Amici on Gay Street.

“The hostess was waiting at the door and escorted me to a private elevator. I turned around and the hostess hit the button to take me to the top—and she vanished. Once I arrived, I could already hear our song playing through the doors. As the doors opened, I could see the rose petals on the floor and the reflection of beautiful lights in the windows. I walked around the corner to see Aaron standing in a room full of lanterns and lights draped from the ceiling creating a beautiful, magical ambiance.”

Who’s cutting onions in here, anyway? After Aaron asked, and Jaimie said yes, the pair celebrated with Champagne and a five-course meal. Due Amici was incredible to let us use a private space above their restaurant to create memories we will have forever,” Jaimie says.

Just six months later, Aaron’s brother officiated their ceremony.

“Having someone so close to us perform the wedding was very emotional,” Jaimie recalls. “We also wrote our own vows, and I recommend that for everyone. It’s so personal.”
