Real Wedding Wednesdays: Tamara Halaweh and Christopher Hritz

Nicholas Youngblood

There is never a dull moment for physicians Tamara Halaweh and Chris Hritz.

The newlyweds started dating when Tamara was in residency and Chris was a new attending at Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center, but this wasn’t where they first met. That story is a little wilder. The bride-and-groom-to-be were both attending a fellow medical student’s party when police responded to a noise violation. Chris, freshly 21, came over to make fun of the girls running from the cops. Little did he know, one of them was his future wife.

Although those rowdy days might be behind behind them, the couple still finds ways to surprise each other. After dating for two years, Chris surprised Tamara while she was on a day trip to Pittsburgh with her mother and sister. Tamara came around a corner at the Phipps Conservatory to find Chris—who was supposed to be back in Columbus—waiting for her with flowers, candles and a ring.

Even their “Arabic elegance”-themed reception kicked off with a revelry to remember. The couple entered with a zaffa band, complete with dancers. Here’s hoping the excitement never ends for the happy couple!
