Real Wedding Wednesdays: Brittney Zerhusen and Casey Fauss-Johnson

Ohio State is a big school in a big city, so it’s no surprise that alumni Brittney and Casey Fauss-Johnson didn’t cross paths until after their time as Buckeyes had come to an end. However, in true Buckeye fashion, they met at a party through a mutual friend.

Although the couple didn’t meet during their college years, the campus still holds a lot of significance for their relationship. It was on the 50-yard line of The ’Shoe that Casey popped the question, after they ran together in The Ohio State 4 Miler race.

The proposal came just days before Brittney’s birthday. Unfortunately, the special day was soon followed by the loss of her mother. In her last conversation with her mom, Brittney told her about the proposal. The ceremony featured several personal details to honor her mom, including photo in Brittney’s bouquet and a few songs that reminded Brittney of her.

In fact, the ceremony had a heavy focus on family overall, with Brittney’s uncle officiating and relatives from all over the country flying in to celebrate the happy couple.
