Real Wedding Wednesdays: Katie Kuntz and Mike Shelby

They say time flies when you’re having fun. Ever since Mike and Katie Shelby met, life has been a whirlwind.

The couple’s first encounter was on their first days at work. After a week of training together, they became quick friends. Then, during a trip to run a half marathon in North Carolina, they started to date. Six months later, in that very same spot, they got engaged.

Describing their wedding day as the best day of their lives, the couple says it still went by too fast. Still, they found ways to create memories that will last forever. They celebrated with their favorite treat—homemade buckeyes—and took time to incorporate their family into the ceremony.

“We had a ‘generations of love’ table with wedding pictures of our parents and grandparents,” Katie says.

But Katie and Mike said the biggest highlight was, naturally, being announced as Mr. and Mrs. Shelby in front of their friends and family and celebrating all night. We hope that after all this, the couple will have time to savor their new life together!
