Real Wedding Wednesdays: Amy Ison and Justin Waugh

Whoever said life isn’t a fairy tale clearly hasn’t met Amy and Justin Waugh.
Years before their fairy-tale wedding, Amy and Justin met when they started together at Abercrombie. Amy promised herself she wouldn’t date coworkers, but after nine months of working closely together, she threw caution to the wind and asked her boss to set them up at a party. “Once we got there, we looked at each other, quickly bailed, and headed to Arch City Tavern,” Amy says, “where we spent the next three hours talking about everything under the sun and laughing so hard my cheeks hurt.”
Three and a half years later, Justin surprised Amy when he popped the question on the Main Street Bridge in Downtown Columbus. The couple are both huge Disney fans, so it’s no wonder that their ceremony at The Athletic Club of Columbus was full of magical moments.
“When the bridal party started to line up before the ceremony, [the band was] playing ‘Tale as Old as Time’ from ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ and I immediately got chills and started to cry,” Amy says. “It was absolutely perfect!” The ceremony as a whole was deeply personal, with Amy’s brother, Grant Ison, officiating.
The pair’s special day ended on a high note. “The Athletic Club has a bowling alley in the basement that can be rented out for an afterparty,” Amy explains. “We had Mikey's Late Night Slice delivered there, and a cousin [served as a] DJ to end the night with a bang!” As far as fairy tales go, we think that’s a perfect ending.
