Checking the forecast, you’ll see rain in the coming days … and lots of it. If you, like us, are already suffering from cabin fever caused by the latest stay-at-home order, you might be looking for new ways to be creative and experience the outdoors. Kasey Conyers, owner of Clintonville-based Orchard Lane Flowers, has a solution to brighten up your space and get your creative juices flowing.

The floral boutique will offer a live flower-arranging workshop via Zoom next week. On Wednesday, April 15, at 7 p.m., Conyers will show attendees how to make a fun, easy floral centerpiece.

Orchard Lane flowers will deliver a vase, the necessary blooms and flower food to your home with a no-contact drop-off the morning of the event. Or you can opt to BYOF—bring your own flowers, that is. “I’ll send a shopping list two days before the workshop, so you can stop by the grocery store and grab something there,” Conyers says. “I’ll also give you details on the size and shape of the vase you’ll want to pull from your collection at home or from the store.”

There’s a limited supply of flowers available for the full-service option, which costs $49.99 plus delivery to the Columbus area, so sign up early to get that deal. BYOF options are, of course, unlimited and cost just $9.99. Orchard Lane Flowers also has a limited supply of floral design tool kits, priced at $35, that are available for a no-contact pickup from the shop.

“We’ve also partnered with the Athletic Club of Columbus culinary team,” Conyers says. “They’re going to provide us with a simple-to-prepare recipe for a snack and cocktail—since you may be running to the store to get flowers, you might as well grab snacks and drink supplies too!—to enjoy at home, together with everyone that night.”
