Real Wedding Wednesdays: Georgia Bennett and Isaac Mallory

Ski trips can be full of fun, frozen times and good memories. For Georgia and Isaac Mallory, that snowy setting also laid the groundwork for a beautiful relationship.

The fateful ski trip took place when the pair were students at Wittenberg University. After four years of dating, Isaac was preparing to leave for Officer Candidate School for the U.S. Marine Corps when he proposed to Georgia during a hike. A resounding “yes” from Georgia led to a one-year engagement, ending on Sept. 1, 2019 with their long-awaited marriage.

The wedding took place at Scarlet City Church before 215 guests and included the customs of a military wedding, like passing under the sabers down the aisle; something Georgia particularly enjoyed. The wedding had a patriotic, military theme; the Mallorys even put tiny American flags in the desserts. But the most interesting aspect of the day, Georgia says, was the weather.

Though it was nearly autumn, a wedding crasher made an appearance: hail. It was almost as if nature was bringing the couple’s relationship full circle by reminding them of how they met: a chance meeting in the cold that bloomed into a warm romance.
