From humble beginnings in 1947 as a jewelry repair shop, the Diamond Cellar has become one of the largest independent luxury jewelers in the country, providing diamonds, engagement rings and wedding bands from all the top brands.

“If we do not have exactly what you are looking for, or you have something specific in mind, we have the latest technology and best goldsmiths to make a custom design,” says Alex Johnson, partner and executive vice president.

Services range from custom design to jewelry repair, ring resizing, stone tightening, ring-shank replacement, jewelry refinishing, soldering, engraving and pearl restringing.

“Our selection, quality and custom capabilities are second to none,” Johnson says. “On top of that, we have the most knowledgeable associates in the business. When you combine those aspects, you can be assured that you will be getting the perfect rings, and [this will be] the least stressful part of planning your big day.”

Another benefit, Johnson says, is that Diamond Cellar is privately held, “meaning we can and will do what is right for the customer.”

Johnson says classic bridal jewelry styles, such as yellow gold, vintage-inspired designs and an emphasis on the center stone, are making a comeback. Requests for solitaire and three-stone engagement rings are also on the rise. Men’s wedding bands are moving away from dark materials like tungsten and titanium to more traditional yellow gold and simple patterns.

Johnson’s advice for newly engaged couples: “Be present in every moment, and don’t get caught up in the perfection. Your wedding is an expression of yourselves, but it’s not all you’ll ever be. It’s just the beginning. In fact, some of the best moments are the ones that you won’t plan for at all. Embrace the unexpected and each other’s opinions. You’re in this together, now and for the future.”
