Nothing says “Columbus” quite like a pie from Mikey’s Late Night Slice, so if you’re in need of a fun, late-night snack at a wedding reception, look no further than this local favorite. After a round on the dance floor, guests can enjoy an oversized slice of pizza alongside the restaurant’s signature specialty sauces. While pizza isn’t a traditional choice for wedding dinner fare, it’s perfect for the laid-back, pizza-loving couple who is looking for something unique to give guests at their reception.

The pizza joint, owned by Mikey Sorboro, had humble beginnings in 2009 as a walkup counter in the Short North that sold pizza by the slice. Sorboro told Columbus Alive in 2012 that the idea for a pizzeria that’s open way past your bedtime was “inspired by being drunk at 2 a.m. and not having [anything] to eat other than gyros.” The idea took hold, and in 2015, Sorboro opened the brand’s first full-service restaurant and bar.

Since then, the pizzeria has become a local staple and has expanded into three standalone locations in Columbus and a number of small pop up spots in local music venues and bars. Last year, the chain and its sister bar, Oddfellows, expanded into Cincinnati’s Over-The-Rhine district, just a block away from Rhinegiest brewery. Their roaming food truck, the PizzAssault Truck, makes appearances at local festivals and private events such as weddings.
