Buckeye Bounce Club
As a longtime gymnast and cheerleader, Trisha Rich Yocum knows how enjoyable keeping fit can be.
When she opened the Buckeye Bounce Club, she envisioned it as a place where kids and adults would get a workout but have a great time doing it.
"I wanted to do something that was fitness-related but fun for families. Also, a place kids could go with their friends," said Yocum, who was a member of the Ohio State University cheerleading squad from 1995-2000. "Something conducive to all ages."

Is Buckeye Bounce more about fun or fitness?
It's about fitness, family and fun. If someone can walk, they can bounce. We have people in their 50s and 60s easily doing classes. It's a good combination of all three.
What type of classes do you offer?
We do adult classes, kid classes, fitness classes, tumbling and Mommy & Me classes. You can burn 800 to 1,500 calories in our fitness classes. It's a good combination of strength and cardio. It's a great full-body burn. We also offer dodgeball, open jump and birthday parties. Birthday parties are what we're known for.
What are some of the special activities that you offer?
We do several fundraisers a year. On Valentine's Day, we had a family jump. We always have a no-school special. On snow days, (admission) is $10. We have teen night on Fridays. We give free first-class passes for anyone who wants to try a class.
How does having a Flyers Pizza & Subs next door help your business?
It's so convenient because we have an adjoining door. They come right through. The pizza's always hot. It's awesome. I think we've helped their business quite a bit as well.
How does your background as an Ohio State University cheerleader impact the business?
It's impacted it greatly. We have a ton of kids that come here for classes that are getting ready for cheerleading tryouts. I work with a lot of (high school) seniors prepping for college tryouts. Buckeye is big around here. It draws people to your place.
