Charity Newsies, which has been providing children with new school clothes since 1907, will accept applications for the 2014-2105 school year from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays starting Sept. 2, at its headquarters, 4300 Indianola Ave.

Requirements include:

* Applications must be completed by a parent or legal guardian;

* Each applicant must live in Franklin County;

* Verified attendance at a Franklin County K-12 school (public, private, charter or parochial);

* Presentation of valid photo identification, Social Security card, and proof of income (a recent pay stub or Human Services Benefit summary).

Upon completion of the application, volunteers will visit each applicant's home to determine the need of each school-age child. Once the visit is completed, the applicant will receive a clothing appointment to select a coat, shirts, pants, underwear and socks at the Charity Newsies' Store, located at the group headquarters.

Charity Newsies will host an open house from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 7, for service organizations and schools interested in touring the facility and learning about the group. For information, go to charitynewsies. org or call 614-263-4300.
