Spring trends 2009
When thinking of spring fashion trends, color almost always comes to mind. And this spring we're thinking green!
Did you know that bamboo is an eco-friendly, sustainable fiber with natural anti-bacterial properties? What about the definition of organic cotton? It's cotton grown without pesticides from plants that are not genetically modified.
We found two boutiques right here in Columbus, Fireflies and Fairytales and Substance, that are keeping the planet in mind. They are becoming eco-friendly, while still staying fashionable.
We had the chance to sit down with expert and owner, Amber Kuehn from Fireflies and Fairytales, located in Upper Arlington. Kuehn said, "Organic has evolutionized to brighter colors. As the children's industry has found more resources for organic materials, it has come full-circle." She added, "You can now find cute styles in great colors from infants to toddlers. The line Kicky Pants is helping us to go green in children's wear. Parents will love the layered dresses they offer, as well as the ruffle-bottom onesies for girls, and hip pants and polos for boys." When given the opportunity, pop into Fireflies and Fairytales. Kuehn has an amazing variety of clothing, accessories and toys.
Let's look at more of the trends for 2009.
