Day 3: Komen Columbus
We are part of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists. We're working together to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find cures.
Our promise is:
- To educate our communities on the vital importance of early detection as a key to breast cancer survival;
- To seek out and fund grants for breast cancer screening, education and treatment -- particularly for the underserved;
- To be responsible stewards of your gifts and your trust; and
- To provide up-to-date information, encouragement and hope to women and men living with breast cancer from the newly diagnosed to long-term survivors, their families and friends.
We need volunteers year-round for ongoing events and projects; specifically for our annual Race for the Cure, scheduled for Saturday, May 15, 2010. To learn more about getting involved, visit komencolumbus.org.
About the seriesThe 12 Days of Giving is a project initiated by Columbus Parent Magazine to give non-profit organizations an outlet for their message.
In these tough economic times, non-profit organizations are the first to see their resources evaporate.
These great organizations rely on your time, talent, and treasure to make a difference in our community. Please consider becoming a sponsor of one of these great community leaders.
