Guests have been traveling to Woodloch Pines Resort for years. In fact, generations of families have made their way to the Woodloch Pines Resort for their vacations. And it's easy to understand why. Woodloch has all the amenities of a luxury resort. Think great food, even greater service, a wide variety of family activities and comfortable accommodations that range from budget to luxury.

Woodloch Pines Resorts is set on 250 acres around a private lake. It's surrounded by the beautiful Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania and with a four-season menu of activities and programs, visitors get great views no matter what time of the year they visit.

Woodloch Pines began as a boarding house in the late 1950s. The original founding family, the Kiesendahls, has taken Woodloch Pines from a modest beginning to their now award-winning resort. Their secret? "Everyone is family here," says Laurie McEvoy.

Their hard work and devotion to their guests' experiences has earned Woodloch Pines many awards, including being named by Better Homes & Gardens and Parents magazines as "one of America's favorite vacation resorts." Family Circle magazine recently chose Woodloch Pines as "one of the six best all-inclusive resorts." Laurie shares that Woodloch was named the No. 1 Place to Work in Pennsylvania. An astounding 30 percent of the resort employees have been with Woodloch for over a decade. That alone says this must be a pretty happy place to be.

"It truly is a magical resort," Laurie says. "Think Dirty Dancing meets Disney. We have kept the traditional vacation qualities that families want and combined them with up-to-date amenities and programming. We want families to experience their activities together. It's all about spending time reconnecting with one another. That's how the best memories are created." If Mom and Dad do want to visit the spa* or have dinner alone, babysitting service is available.

Regardless of how many there are in your family, there is an accommodation that is right for you. From Classic Standard rooms, Deluxe Lakeview rooms, luxurious Edgewater Suites and even guests homes in Woodloch Springs (a quick 5-minute drive). Whether you're watching your pennies or splurging on the family, you won't have trouble finding the right room or guest house for that matter.

As a mom of three boys, I know how stressful meal time can be especially when away from home. But Woodloch has pulled out the stops and goes beyond being a family resort to being an all-inclusive family vacation. They provide three meals a day as part of the traditional Woodloch dining experience. For families who do want to go it on their own, the non-traditional plan is an option. There are four on-site restaurants at Woodloch Pines.

For entertainment head to the Heritage Nightclub for Broadway-style theme shows. When Broadway-style shows are not presented, visitors can enjoy acts such as swing bands, comedians and more.

The fact that Woodloch has a private lake means there's plenty of water and beach fun to be had. And while that alone could keep many visitors busy, there's so much more to do that everyone in the family will be happy. Think hayrides, tennis, batting cages, golf, hiking, basketball, Jacuzzis and saunas, boat rides, bingo, go carts, you get the point. The list is fairly endless.

The sister property is the newly acquired Lodge at Woodloch. Guests staying at the Woodloch Pines Resort have access to spa treatments and services. Parents can take turns heading for the spa or get a babysitter and enjoy some time as a couple.

Woodloch is "a tradition" says Laurie. At checkout, many families make reservations to come back the following year. It's where families get to be families."
