Artisan NY-style bagels at Bagel Tree

We spent all day Friday at a photo shoot at The Top Steakhouse for our November issue. I can't show you any photos from that yet, sadly (believe me, it's going to be stunning), but I can show you a picture of what we snacked on all day: delicious, delicious bagels. One of our models, the lovely Joyce Goren, makes bagels with organic, locally sourced ingredients and sells them at farmers markets as The Bagel Tree.

Goren, a recent transplant from New Jersey, started making these artisan, New York-style bagels once she realized it's hard to find decent bagels here in the Midwest. And hers are pretty fantastic: crusty and crunchy outside, dense and chewy inside. We enjoyed ours with Goren's favorite cream cheese, Organic Valley's Cream Cheese Spread.

Curent flavors include: plain, poppy, sesame, salt, onion, everything, cinnamon raisin, whole wheat and egg. I had a sesame and half of a cinnamon raisin. Yum.

The Bagel Tree has been setting up at the Hilliard Farmers Market, the New Albany Farmers Market and the Grove City Farmers Market, and will be joining Pearl Market soon. Follow The Bagel Tree on Facebook and Twitterto find out where to find Goren's bagels.
