Brunch every day at Till
My love for brunch and my love for Till know no bounds, and so I was pretty thrilled to learn the King Avenue restaurant has started serving brunch every single day.
For some reason, I've never made it over to Till's weekend brunch, so treating myself to a midweek breakfast felt like a special treat. I went back and forth between a mushroom-and-taleggio omelet and the Izzy and Mo's Fish Plate, and was quite happy with my decision to order the latter. It's one of the more interesting dishes I've tried in a while.
In the crock on the left is salted cod topped with a soft-boiled egg, a rich and salty concoction that tastes great spread onto toast. Typically, this dish comes with house-cured gravlax, which I'd like to go back and try, but this particular day they were serving roasted sea trout instead. It was, not surprisingly, fantastic. I also scooped up a dab of that of creamy goat cheese dollop with every bite.
Other brunchy options these days (Till's menu changes quite frequently) are a pulled pork frita, fried chicken with French toast, tofu mac and cheese and the always excellent lamb burger, plus bloody marys and other boozy daytime drinks. Go check it out sometime soon. Like my other favorite every-day brunch spot, Pistacia Vera, this is a fabulously indulgent splurge during the chaos of the holiday season.
