A restaurant pioneer in Olde Town, Angry Baker serves locally sourced breakfasts to folks from all over the city. While the menu changes with the season, a few vegetarian and vegan options are constants.

Angry Baker adds a little green to the breakfast plate with their Baked Eggs: a rich casserole-like concoction of spinach, eggs and parmesan, served alongside a fresh salad. Another popular option is their vegan version of biscuits and gravy.

Starliner Diner

5240 Cemetery Rd., Hilliard

614-529-1198

Serving Cuban and Mexican fare since 1994, this eclectic eatery is worth a trip to Hilliard. (Live in the area? Lucky you.) The wall of retro sun tchotchkes will shine upon you as you peruse the wide selection of meat-free breakfast options.

Favorites include their epic Vegetarian Breakfast Burrito, served with a generous portion of black beans, and the chilaquiles with zucchini, corn and cilantro.

Surly Girl

1126 N. High St., Short North

614-294-4900

Wake up at noon? No worries. At Surly Girl, brunch is served until 4 p.m.—and, as with all Columbus Food League restaurants, the menu is clearly marked with vegetarian and vegan options.

Start the day with their Black Bean Huevos ‘Surlitos.’ Served with red-skin potatoes and fresh orange slices, this Tex-Mex dish will give you the energy to make the afternoon productive. Or to order another Bloody Mary. Whatever.
