Food Porn: Cheesecake at L'Appat

On the far edges of on-the-rise Olde Towne East sits L'Appat Patisserie & Cafe, a quaint shop that appears as if it were magically transported from some Parisian boulevard and plopped onto Oak Street. West African-born owner Didier Alapini prepares sandwiches and salads to order with studied precision, but L'Appat's big draw is a glass case filled with cakes, cookies and other sweets in exotic flavors. Pick up fruit-filled French turnovers called chaussons, Brazilian sweet potato pies or this beauty, a White Sweet Potato Banana Chocolate Cheesecake.
