Our public service announcement for the weekend: don't drink the green beer. Instead, celebrate St. Patrick's Day with Irish food specials! Here are our picks for three food-centric celebrations to check out, depending on how rowdy you want to get.

Very Rowdy

O'Reilly's Pub: The Clintonville pub is open all day to serve revelers, starting with a traditional Irish breakfast in the morning and an Irish menu in the afternoon. Expect Irish stew, shepherd's pie, and corned beef and cabbage.

Kinda Rowdy

Dempsey's (pictured): This Downtown restaurant LOVES St. Patrick's Day, even holding practice drinking sessions once a month. Hopefully, that'll translate into patrons who can hold their liquor. They'll open at 7 a.m. Sunday with an Irish breakfast buffet and offer drink specials all day.

Not So Rowdy

Friday and Saturday nights, the Ohio History Center is offering candlelight dinners themed "From the Pubs of Ireland." On the menu: shepherd's pie, cream of leek soup with caramelized cabbage and bacon, Irish chopped salad, Baileys cheesecake.
