New mid-week dining deals

Dine Originals new mid-week dining promotion Wednesday Originals kicks off today. It's a promotion that will run continuously on the first Wednesday of every month, and is designed to showcase the personality of the group's roughly 50 members.

Here's the gist: Each restaurant picks what they want to discount or run on special for the evening. Some offer all-night happy hour or retail wine, others are creating special menus just for the event. It's an offering held in lieu of Dine Originals' biannual fixed price menu restaurant weeks, says new executive director Shelley Mann.

"Each restaurant will be able to pick something that speaks to their vibe and their personality," Mann says. "It's not as strict as three courses and a set price. This is something where they get to be creative."

For example, give up your phone for the evening at Due Amici, and your appetizer is on the house. Or test your luck at Hubbard Grille where every table gets a lottery ticket (and every ticket is a winner).
