Stauf's headed for North Market

Beth Stallings, Columbus Crave

Starting July 1, Stauf's Coffee Roasters will take over the North Market stand currently occupied by A Touch of Earth, which has been location at the market since 1978.

A Touch of Earth owner Ann Leonard, who is closing shop to retire, approached Stauf's president Mark Swanson in January about taking over her lease. Swanson plans to keep the sustainable coffee bar, but add a roasting component, roasting beans onsite for coffee served at the market.

A Touch of Earth will be open through the transition, and is expected to close for a few days at the end of June in order to install new equipment.

This is the latest news in an ongoing market shuffle for the last year that's shifted the placement of longterm stands and seen the addition of new vendors, including Pistacia Vera and Katzinger's. There's no word yet on who will occupy the lone remaining stand available for lease.
