Da Levee ready to open in Gahanna

They've moved in equipment, passed inspections and purchased ingredients; now Justin Boehme and his Da Levee team are only days away from turning out po'boys and roux at their new grab-and-go spot in Gahanna.
The 10-seater at 129 N. Stygler Rd. will feature Creole-style offerings and daily specials similar to those at their Short North location, with an emphasis on carryout, says general manager Al Smith. He expects they'll be taking orders as early as Friday, Aug. 29, and no later than Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Boehme, Da Levee's owner and head chef, handled much of the woodwork in the 950-square-foot space, which will be familiar to regulars-sparkly purple floors and all. Boehme will now spend of most of his time in the Gahanna kitchen, where Da Levee will handle much of its catering business.
Smith says they're excited to be expanding to Gahanna, which has attracted a number of new businesses this year, like B Spot, 101 Beer Kitchen and The Barn at Rocky Fork Creek (Cameron Mitchell's new casual steakhouse concept set to open on Sept. 17).
"Other restaurants around here are staying busy, so hopefully we can give that neighborhood more variety of food," he says.
Down the road, Smith hopes to expand to the vacant space next door, where they may add a bar and additional seating.
